| And what are the benefits of having more muscle and less fat?
We all know how being in better shape can transform our looks. And lean mass is good mass. A man can weigh 200 and look flabby or he can weigh 200 pounds and look fit and athletic. The difference is how much lean mass he has. The same goes for a woman who weighs 140 pounds. But there is so much more to the story.
It's a generally established medical fact that the benefits of resistance training are a practical fountain of youth. Here is a partial list:
Osteoporosis: As we age our bones naturally get more porous and less dense. That makes them more brittle and prone to breaking. Resistance training reverses this process and adds density to bones.
Cholesterol: Exercise lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and increases HDL (good) cholesterol. These are two key markers of heart disease that are improved by exercise.
Human Growth Hormone: We're not talking about the synthetic HGH that is constantly advertised over the Internet. Heavy resistance training causes your body to produce more of its own, perfect-for-you natural growth hormone. Increased HGH is known to boost sexual potency, improve your sleep, improve memory, decrease the wrinkles in your skin!
Testosterone: Resistance training naturally increases levels of testosterone which delays the onset of andropause, also know as male menopause.
Fat Loss: Adding muscle to your body increases your Basal Metabolic Rate which means you'll naturally burn more calories and lose fat 24 hours a day. Adding just 5 pounds of new muscle will burn off 20 to 25 pounds of fat annually.
More Energy: Having more muscle means that every activity throughout the day is less taxing. That means having extra energy to enjoy life more.
Look Better: Resistance training changes the composition of your body in two very positive ways. It increases lean body mass and decreases fat. In short, resistance training makes you look younger and more fit.
Our equipment absolutely, positively delivers these benefits more efficiently than any other training method or exercise equipment in the world. We don't need to qualify that statement in any way. The Explosive Fitness equipment does what no other equipment or exercise method in the world can do: exercises of 3 to 5 seconds per muscle group can be performed at the absolute highest intensity any human (we know of) can achieve. Over two thousand pounds of resistance for upper body exercises and over five pounds of resistance in the leg press configuration!
The XF equipment will allow you to achieve the best body your genetics will possibly allow and it will do it more efficiently than any other method or equipment.
Our Explosive Fitness exercise equipment has a vaguely similar look compared to conventional equipment, but that's where the similarity ends. It has many unique features that can take you - young or old, beginner or expert - to a level of strength and fitness you've never achieved before. And it can do it faster than any other equipment. Here are some of the design features:
Resistance of over 5,000 pounds. The simple truth is, people just have no idea how strong they can get until they start performing Static Contraction Training. SCT's method is to hold a weight in place, motionless, until you reach fatigue. Obviously, the lighter the weight, the longer you can hold it. Pete Sisco's research and experimentation over more than a decade has revealed that the weight you hold is far more important to stimulating muscle growth than the time you hold the weight. So holding 200 pound for 10 seconds is better than holding 100 pounds for 20 seconds. With the Explosive Fitness equipment you only need to push or pull with maximum effort for 3 or 4 seconds. And you do it with the bar adjusted to the position of your strongest range of motion. Using the bench press as an example, most people train by lowering the bar to their chest, the weakest (and most injury prone) range. To lift the bar from that position you need to select a much lower weight than if you just lift only in the top range. Also, performing 10 or 12 reps might take 40 to 60 seconds. If you perform multiple sets it takes even more time. Compare that to what you could dynamically push in your strongest range for just 3 seconds. Big difference. And conventional machines - even expensive commercial machines in big-name gyms - deliver only 200 to 300 pounds of resistance. Kids can max that out. But nobody will outgrow the resistance of our machines.
No Spotter Needed
Another reason most people never lift what they are capable of is safety. Even if your gym's leg press can hold 1,000 pounds (and the gym has enough iron plates) it can be pretty intimidating to operate the machine. Explosive Fitness machines are completely different. There are no plates, springs, bands, hydraulics or other means of pressing down on you. So you can give every lift your all-out, unbridled effort without thinking about keeping some strength in reserve so you can safely rack the bar or carefully lower the sled so as to avoid injury. On our leg press, you adjust the footplate to where you need it and then it does not move whatsoever. So you can press on it for all you're worth and then just stop, get up and walk away. The footplate doesn't move. There is nothing to fall on you. Yet, when you glance at the readout on the digital meter it will indicate the resistance you just pressed to the pound, lifted in safety and security. With no spotter, anyone from beginner to expert, male or female can work out in total privacy.
Light Enough to Move Easily
Nobody really wants behemoth machines in their home. Conventional heavy duty exercise equipment needs to be engineered to hold hundreds of pounds of either iron plates or iron weight stacks. Sometimes they need to be bolted into a concrete floor to ensure safety. But Explosive Fitness machines are lightweight. So anyone can slide them across a rug floor to vacuum. Despite weighing only about 100 pounds, they deliver tons (literally) of resistance and are very sturdy.
No Need to Buy Iron Plates
Can you imagine if we designed this equipment to require conventional iron plates? After your leg press is delivered you'd discover you need to go out and buy 110 45lb plates at a cost of over $3,000!! Our machines are completely different than conventional machines. They don't require buying or moving heavy, dangerous weights. The static resistance is built in. Tons of it. And because there is absolutely no weight changing, two people of entirely different capabilities and experience can easily train together. So you your teenage son or daughter can do a bench press of 119 pounds immediately after your 394 pound press.
Deliver and Display Actual Resistance
There's a dirty little secret in every gym. When you select "180" on a machine's weight stack you're almost never actually lifting 180 pounds. Most machines, especially ones that deliver multiple exercises, use pulleys and levers to help pull the weight. Not that there's anything wrong with pulleys and levers, they give us the modern world. But those exercise machines don't tell you the actual, effective weight you're lifting. Perhaps the best example is the typical leg press which slides weight on a 45 degree angle. When you lift a weight at that angle it's equivalent to lifting 70.7% of that weight vertically. So a 1,000 pound leg press is really just a 707 pound lift. By contrast, Explosive Fitness machines are engineered to display the exact resistance - to the pound - that you're lifting in every exercise. By the way, that means our XF 7000 Pro’s maximum capacity is equal to doing over 7,000 pounds on a conventional leg press…and no such conventional machine exists. Our machine stands alone.
The Best Exercises
We mentioned the years of testing that went into SCT research. One of the things tested was which exercises yield the most intense, highest efficiency muscular output for each major muscle group. For example, to work your triceps you could choose any of a dozen or more exercises such as: cable pressdowns, pushups, weighted dips, dumbbell triceps extensions, etc. But which one forces your triceps to deliver the maximum weight lifted per unit of time? The answer discovered through testing is close-grip bench presses. Once you know that's been empirically demonstrated, you don't want to waste your time with lesser exercises that deliver 30 or 40% the intensity of the best exercise. So when we designed our machines we made sure they provided the best exercise for each major muscle group. Remember, we're all about efficiency and getting the most fitness benefit with the shortest time invested.
Optimum Positioning Within Less Than 1/2 Inch
Once you realize the benefits of eliminating the weakest, most injury prone range of motion from your exercises, you're free to zero in on exactly where your strongest range lies. And our machine make it possible to test that to within less than 1/2 inch. Most people are surprised to discover that by adjusting the footplate on the Explosive Fitness XF 7000 Pro by a few inches they can often press another 200 pounds or so. So whether you're 5'0" tall or 6' 8" tall our machine will let you experiment so you discover where you can lift the most weight and get the most bang for the buck from each exercise. Other machines simply do not allow this degree of adjustment in order to ensure you lift the maximum possible weight for every exercise.
Quick Changes Between Exercises
As I mentioned above, soon you'll discover the best position for each of your exercises. The Explosive Fitness equipment was designed to offer quick changes between every exercise. So switching from your personal deadlift position to your personal lat pulldown position takes just 10 seconds or so. This is just one of the reasons that a full SCT workout on our equipment takes only 2 or 3 minutes yet delivers peak overload to every targeted muscle group. Compare that to the typical 45 to 60 minutes of conventional training a sub-peak intensity.
Digital Readout of Resistance
This is probably the single greatest feature of our machines. First of all, for the first time in your life it lets you know exactly what you "have in the tank" on any given day. With conventional exercise machines (and with free weights) you have to take a guess at what weight you think you can lift. And, depending on the machine, your guess has to be in multiples of 20 to 90 pounds. (One 10 or 45lb plate per side.) And even if you set a personal record, you still don’t know if that was really the very best you could have done. But with our Explosive Fitness machines you get an instant digital readout of your peak resistance. It could be 137 pounds or 2,841 pounds…that level of precision is absolutely revolutionary! Without any guesswork, you know exactly what you were capable of lifting within 1 pound!
Secondly, the meter provides an instant source of motivation and goal setting! If you know that on your last lat pulldown workout the digital meter indicated your peak weight was 243 pounds, you automatically have an exact goal to surpass on today's workout. Since progressive overload is the absolute key to making muscular progress, each successive workout should show improvement. Our meter gives you instant motivation for your next workout...what price can you put on that?
Thirdly, this valuable feedback from workout to workout shows you whether you're fully recovered. For example, if you know last workout you could bench press 317 pounds but on today's workout you can't get the meter past 281 you instantly learn you are not fully recovered. So the chronic overtraining of conventional machines is immediately avoided. Permanently. All you need to do as you grow stronger is adjust the frequency of your training to allow enough time for your body's full recovery. (This is why so many XF customers brag about how long they go between workouts...it's really another way of bragging about how strong they're getting!)
